Thursday's 7

Today in Brown Room we only had 7 friends. With the low numbers we were able to ebb and flow between the classroom and studio easily.  Below are some highlights:

Ada
announced what she wanted to make, "Pancakes. Pancakes are very very fat."
After getting to work she said, "My special ingredient for my pancakes is orange juice."
When I asked her why she used orange juice she replied, "Because I want to make it really yummy!"
Cannon was skeptical. He continued to work on his cake but commented with, "EEEEEWWWWW."
Ada was shocked with his response and asked, "Did you say orange juice is eeewww?"
He smiled.
Later, Ada explained, "My second ingredient is sugar. Powered sugar. It's a very special ingredient. I'm not gonna put too much of my ingredients."
Right before bringing it over for a taste Ada said, "The second ingredient is milk, so it makes you strong."

Ellie sprinkled some pepper on top of her food and commented, "It's SO spicy! I put a little pepper. Very spicy. You have to eat it when it cools down. Very hot."

Ellie also employed a technique of using a measuring spoon to scrape sand into the bowl she was using for cooking.
Cannon was also busy. He announced, "I wanna make a blue cake."

Palmer was working to fill a container and Oliver offered to help him. Oliver added sand and then they got into a rhythm of Palmer adding sand and Oliver working with the bottom of his measuring cup to pat it down.

Oliver enjoyed this tool, "I can crunch things. I'm crunching! I'm crunching!"

Evelyn was busy making ice cream, pancakes and many other treats. She used her scoop to level off her container.

Maren took initiative and got a piece of recent work from her portfolio drawer and hung it on our new display.
Maren and Palmer checked out the documentation we will be hanging on our walls:
Maren also took time to review documentation of Wolf's escapades in Kenya. Later, Cannon did as well. Woohoo!

Palmer saw that the excavator across the street was busy at work.  He and Oliver watched it for a bit.
Melanie showed the friends some of her art work that she will be displaying at a gallery soon.

If we don't see you tonight at the potluck, have a great weekend!
