Two Great Days

There's never a dull moment in the Brown Room. Both today and yesterday were full of rich moments. So settle in, relax and take it all in.

Sand: Additional materials were added to the sand we've been exploring in the studio. Some of the play continued around our cooking theme, while new threads were also explored:

Emilia made a cake. (Notice the shell candles.) After the candles were blown out, she removed the candles and cut the cake.

Lane noted, "I'm putting sticks because I want to make a cake for mommy and daddy." Later she made a strawberry and chocolate cake.

Lane cracks eggs and mixes them into her cake.

Building: Yesterday Gigi, Maren, Grace and Cannon worked to build a home.
                            Today, Olivia also did some building.  She was concentrating!

Lots of new materials have been added to the classroom.  Alexandra patiently tests pieces in this bug puzzle, turning them carefully when she knows the pattern matches but the piece won't fit.

Another new material: the photos of families' kitchens!  Maren has been collecting them in piles to study them closely.

Gorgeous weather had us enjoying our outside play time as well. Today Tucker room overlapped with us for a bit!
