Morning Meeting

Last week the children had the opportunity to meet Victor, our handyman. He was outside installing a new platform.  Since then, there have been many questions from the children about Victor - where he is, what happened to him etc.  Thus, we had Victor take a video of himself installing the new mirror in the Brown Room.  We looked at the video during morning meeting. 

Here are some snippets of the conversation before watching the video:
Brooke: Who hung up the mirror?
Lane: A teacher hang it up.
Brooke: Do you know anybody at school who helps us and fixes things? What about when we were out on the playground, who was fixing the platform out there?
Lane: And it....It was Victor.
Brooke: So guess who hung our mirror.
Lane: Who?
Brooke: Who?
Lane: I don't know.
Ellie: Victor!

During the video:
Melanie: Does anybody see what he is using to measure? Does anyone know what that is?
Palmer: Tape measure!
Melanie: A tape measure.
Oliver: It's cool!

Small Groups

After morning meeting some friends went with Melanie to look at the family collages and try and draw their families. Others stayed in the room to play. Eventually we were all back playing in the Brown Room.
