Lots of great work today in the studio! The children explored the contrast of bright colors on black paper and some even finished their work by cutting it apart!

Many children went to explore light and shadow around the building.
For some friends it was their first time, and others were lucky enough to have a second opportunity.

At one point, one group discussed how to make a shadow stop moving:

Melanie:  How can we make our shadow stay still? Every time I move, my shadow moves too.
Lane:  We’ll cover it.
Emilia:  Let’s go try to cover it.  I can stay it, because look.  (stays still with body)
Alexandra: My toes are not moving. (watches shadow)
Towards the end of the day, we also got to meet Ronnie, the crane operator from the construction site across the street.  We talked with him about our wonderings: if the crane has a key, does it have an engine, if Ronnie has strong arms and legs from climbing the ladder, if it is ever scary to be up so high.... etc.
