Spring has Sprung!

Picture

Thank you everyone for bringing in beautiful plants and flowers this morning! It inspired a wonderful conversation about the differences and similarities in the plants.
Picture
CC: This rose is hot pink and on the middle is yellow. And on the bottom of the yellow is green. And the stem and the leaves are green too.
Marley: This is light pink and the middle is a little brownish. The stem is greenish.
CC: This (petal) is a little bit white and this is bright pink.
CC: This flower, on the end of the flower is red and this is yellow in the middle and this is white. And the stem is green but there’s no leaves.
Elle: These are my flowers. This reminds me of wind and rain, cold like wind and rain.
George: I don’t notice anything.
Marley: This is light pink and this is green.
CC: This is purple and the middle is white and yellow.

Jack: This is a little bit of red and the stem in the middle is yellow. The yellow as the same yellow as this yellow which is the same yellow as this. Can I just rub my face yellow? Smell this it smells kind of sweet. You can make a wish on roses, but this is the pollen. The seeds are the pollen, but if you eat the pollen your wish will never come true. Abby told me that.

We were so inspired by our conversation, we built in time to notice and collect some signs of spring from the church yard! What we couldn't collect in bags, Jack offered to capture on camera. The photos he took are included in a slideshow below!

Lochie: It looks like there’s yellow on the inside of lots of flowers. Smell this one. It has white on the fronts and yellow stuff inside. The small ones always try to go up my nose.
Jack: This plant is missing mud.
Lochie: Yeah it’s missing dirt.
Jack: One time my Mom bought plants without dirt.
Lochie: Momma got flowers with bulbs that were tiny and had insides that had like little candle stuff. It looks like this and yellow petals, and it looked like a half tube.

With plants on the brain, we also added seaweed to our ocean mural. Lochie and Violet made a point to add seaweed that “went all the way up to the sky”! We’re so excited for all of our spring adventures tomorrow!
