A House For LoviesA funny thing happened on the way to Rainey Room. We brought out some of our stuffed animals to play with as friends trickled in during the morning. As we came upstairs, some of us still had them out at morning meeting. They sat with us while we examined the morning's provocation. But then we had an epiphany. What if the love went into the house? That could be a house for people to live in - Maxon Or for us? - Lucia It's too small - Jane Lovies could live in it - Jane It can. Look! It can fit! - Maxon Its a bed for my stuffie - Jane The realization provided inspiration for our work and supported our understanding of house by creating consistent scale. Now we could measure the size on objects like walls and beds against the the size of the stuffed animal we chose. With an adult nearby at all times to supervise for safety, we began constructing our houses with a variety of materials and the hot glue gun. We reminded ourselves to be care with hot glue. The hot glue gun can glue this together - Maxon You can get burned - Janie If we are being careful with the hot glue gun, can we use it safely? - Jordan Yes we can - Maxon It needs to be so tall for my doggie - Jane "Its a bench to sit on. Now we need big walls." - Jane
