Rainey AOn Zoom several weeks ago, we explored folding, weaving and book building with paper. Today we took our paper exploration a step further by trying to make our own. Using a simple technique of pressing paper pulp, we attempted to make our own paper moons. Violet: It feels so squishy. George: I don’t want to do it with my hands. Can I use the scooper? Jack: It looks just like yucky stuff. Elle: I don’t want to touch it. I don’t want to use my hands. Marley: It’s so gooey and wet, but it's a little fun. We pressed our symbols into the wet paper so we would remember whose was whose when they dried, and we talked about how the size of the moon indicates its distance. “Yeah yeah when its so small it's over there, but when its so big it's over there, close” - Lochie We finished up the day with a stop at the school’s light table, an impromptu game of freeze dance and sharing in a special birthday treat from Jane and Rainey Room B!
