Do You Want to Build A Snow Cake? - JanieBack after a double snow day! Can anything really compete with the first real snow we've had in 2 years? The classroom was exploding with stories of all the fun friends had in the snow over the long weekend. I sledded with my sister - Lucia I tried to make snow angels - Sylvie I made a snowman - Jane I made a snow tower - Lucia And then, like a snowball to the face, we were hit by inspiration We can use clouds to make snow. We can paper and cut it and and make snow to put on the doll houses - Sylvie We need scissors - Lucia We can make snowballs and make snow fight inside - Sylvie It needs to be fancy - Janie Some people play with balls in the snow - Sylvie After chatting about the snow we created, we turned our attention to our building materials. We could make snowmen, but where would they live? How would they stay comfortable as our paper snow fell? We needed to make houses for the snowmen, of course! The sign says "No Monsters Allowed" - Jane We headed to the outdoor class to continue our weather work with the real thing. The children were so excited to build and play with the snow. Thankfully, many of us brought boots from home to keep our feet warm. The pure joy of playing in snow with friends is inspiring. We had such a great day. Take care and stay warm.
