Everyone had so much fun taking turns, sharing, cooperating, and all around working together to add and blend all of the muffin ingredients. Some of the work was easier than other parts of the process, but we persevered with enthusiasm. "Can I help you, Maxon? ... It looks gooey, but it looks yummy." -Janie"I like cinnamon apples." -LuciaThe muffins smelled so delicious! But the taste? The taste might have been offset by precision of following the recipe. We still had fun and got a learning experience out of it. Success knows no path without error! How do they taste?
Maxon: Okay, we'll make something when we come back to school. Janie: Like a cake? We should make a cake. ... Cherry. Melanie: What about a pizza? Lucia: I don't like cheese. ... I like cheese. ... I don' t like cheese on pizza. ... I like peppers, apples, and chicken. Continuing Painting Our Treehouse"We need to keep painting or Jane will be sad. Lucia started with yellow to continue painting the house. Janie chose red to give another coat of paint to our low level slide. The next color we needed was green. Hmm... How to make green. Maxon and Melanie worked it out and Lucia and Janie joined in to learn about our process in understanding primary and secondary color relationships. The primary colors - red, blue, and yellow - were pointed out and named. Then Maxon and Melanie picked two, and only two, of the three primary colors to mix. Starting with yellow and red, the two colors already in use, Maxon observed that when mixed the resulting (secondary) color was orange. Still needing green, we continued on in our exploration of mixing two primary colors for a new secondary color result. We kept yellow from the first two colors and instead of red chose blue to mix the yellow with. The result was just what we needed. Green! Just what we needed to paint the treetop and the palmfronds of our papier maché tree house. "Now everyone can come to our treehouse." -Janie Next steps? Decorate it!" -JanieFriday Fun Day with Rainey A"Hey, that's how (zigzag) bunnies runaway from foxes!" -Lucia It's always a pleasure to connect with Rainey Room A at the end of our day on Friday. We learned some new games today too! We started with four corners and ended with an obstacle course. Have a wonderful weekend and Easter holiday!
