Silhouettes and ShadowsHow wonderful it is to be back at school again! While we all had relaxing breaks, we think Lochie said it best when he told us “I was so tired of being home!”. We’re all excited to swap our slippers for sneakers and get back to our explorations! When we took the silhouettes downstairs to the projector, the real magic began. After some initial trial and error about how and where to use the silhouettes on the projector, the children began to create beautiful and imaginative stories, integrating each of the pieces. That’s my boat! And look, there’s a butterfly flying over! This is a pretty picture - Lochie Now there’s a dragonfly coming in the way - CC Now the dolphin, it's supposed to right in the side - Elle Put this one [the french fry] on, you can add one here - George The shadow exploration gradually became a shadow show with children rotating between audience members and narrators. ![]() Once upon a time there was a hippo and he was looking for his friends and then… - CC And then these are the friends - George They came over and he said “I was looking for you” and then a seal came over and swimmed, and then the french fries ate the rocketship. Then the car drove to the rocketship and ate the rocket-ship and the dog - CC Theeee end- George Thank you so much to all those who contributed to our silhouette collection! We can't wait to see where this exploration takes us!
