It [the face] looks like it's singing to me! - Elle

 Today we moved our light and shadow explorations up from Blake hall to our classroom. This encouraged more flexibility and freedom with the exploration as children came and went as they pleased. Quickly, the shadow screen evolved beyond a one dimensional medium for storytelling turning into a backdrop for all kinds of dramatic play.

Some children even took to staging particular scenes for their play.

As the morning continued, several children began using the message center materials to cut new and different shapes for the shadow backdrops. Most popular were star hole punchers that we had on the table, leftover from preparing the virtual learning packets.
