Discussing the Ocean FloorWith our canvas painted blue, it was time to plan out our ocean floor. Using the painted poster board we made while mixing our blues, we imagined what the ocean floor might look like. CC: Let’s mix the yellow with white so I can make the sand color. That looks like a good bottom of the ocean. That’s where it’s deep in the ocean and where its not there’s still sand there. Lochie: That too big a seaweed CC: I wanna draw a dolphin. How can I draw a dolphin? Lochie: This is my seaweed. My seaweed just has lines. They only have lines and roots in the sand but nothing else. CC: Look, there’s all kinds of seaweed Violet: I’m making a seaweed too. Lochie: After the seaweed can you do the box for the water machines and the tubes sucking up the water? Some friends took the opportunity to step away from the painting and draw what it is they wanted to add. CC worked on a dolphin, Lochie reproduced images of water machines and coral and Jack enjoyed working on a unicorn drawing he started in the morning. After playing with Legos, George and Marley wandered over to the painting and wanted to add some of their details. George: I’m putting seaweed Marley: I’m adding seaweed, I’m covering the floor with seaweed. We also had a chance to enjoy a conversation with Lulu Baker about the St. John’s pajama project. Lou Lou showed us around her studio and answered our questions about the type of fabric and designs she uses: Lochie: Do you know the long, fuzzy pajamas with feet? CC: Remember when on picture day me and Lochie had skeleton pajamas? We showed her some of our favorite pajama designs! Big thanks to Lou Lou for a peek into her pajama design world! Enjoying the brand new sand! Have a great weekend!!
