While we didn't have time on Tuesday to bake, we certainly made up for it today. As the season demands, we baked a delicious, sweet pumpkin cake complete with our special ingredient: chocolate chips!
Before we made the batter, we problem solved how something as big as a pumpkin could fit inside something as small as the can of pumpkin puree:
George: Maybe if you had a tiny pumpkin, that would fit? Lochie: You have to cut it up like this (makes chopping motion) into tiny pieces.
Before snack we added our ingredients and even all had a chance at the mixer which, although “pretty loud” as Violet put it, certainly made a smooth batter for baking!
Elle: Yum! It’s sweet! George: I like the chocolate chips, I never had pumpkin cake Marley: I like it! Jack: Yummy because of all the pumpkin taste and the chocolate chips CC: This is the best! Better than banana bread!
In the afternoon, we had a fantastic chance to visit with our Rainey Room B Friends! Jordan sent up a spectacular relay race in Blake Hall and we each took turns running, hopping and crawling down to the hula hoop then doubling back to tag our friend in. While the weather may have been cloudy, it's never a gloomy day for Rainey A!
