![]() A Lot of Happiness Today - Giacomo Today we finally had our friends back in Rainey Room! After such a long time apart, we started off the year exploring our space and reconnecting with our friends. Children got the opportunity to explore their creativity and storytelling skills at our dramatic play area. We talked about friends who were not in the room with us this year and how we could stay connected with them. We explored the idea as children read the messages they received from their family and teachers. “Maybe we can use the sound pipe to talk to them” - Giacomo on how to talk to Rainey Room A During snack we discussed Jordan’s new stamp, which Sylvie identified as a cockatoo. That sparked a discussion around what a cockatoo is and what we know about cockatoos/birds. The children disagreed on how many colors it had but decided it was a bird with feathers that could fly "It's a type of bird" - Sylvie "I think it's an owl. An owl cockatoo." - Janie We decided that we should try and draw what we think cockatoos look like and continue to research the animals this week. Maxon suggested we use the computer to find more information. After we completed our work, we practiced our letters and colors with Jordan in a jumping game and finished with Melanie’s mindful yoga.
