This morning was our first Sing-a-long in Blake Hall.
It was so wonderful to be able to welcome more parents and caregivers to be a part of this tradition.
Afterward, during morning meeting, the children unwrapped and explored some of the instruments that were made by parents during the Spring New Parent Orientation event. These will be incorporated into Sing-a-long soon.
Later, two small groups visited the new, all-school Atelier. Last year, that room was used by Tucker Room, but this year it has been repurposed. The first part of the visit was observing what materials were in the space. The children noticed, screws, buttons, shells, glue, tape, hot glue, bottle caps and keys amongst the many materials.
Both groups spent time exploring the Gelatos. One group also tried some other writing and drawing tools too.
Palmer made an astute observation about the new tools,
"You don't know what you like until you try new things. You have to try new things."
