Happy Birthday Gigi!!!

Today we celebrated Gigi's school birthday!!! (Her actual birthday was December 30th.) Gigi and Lindsey read a book about a young girl scientist to the class: Georgia's Terrific, Colorific Experiment. Afterward, Gigi opened her gift and we sang to her before she walked around the candle 4 times. And for snack we enjoyed cookies, strawberries, bananas and milk. Happy birthday Gigi! We are so happy that you are part of the Rainey Room!

Gigi had the largest birthday committee to date! And, her gift provided a wonderful opportunity to explore a new technique: sewing on the sewing machine. Gigi had requested: a fox, cheetah and wolf as part of her gift as well as the colors: purple, turquoise and  white.  And, of course, the letter G!

In true St. John's fashion, the children were able to create a beautiful gift using these elements. 

Her birthday committee was: Emilia, Lane, Grace, Wolf B, Maren, Olivia, Ellie, Evelyn and Palmer.

Another Family Tradition
Today we learned about how Fletcher's family dresses-up along a theme for Halloween. One year they were the characters on the Candyland board, and another year they were friends from Sesame Street. The Rainey Room children enjoyed trying on the different costume pieces and seeing photos of the family dressed up throughout the years.
