Today we took advantage of the sun and our extended outside time to do some more sunprints! In the past, we’ve practiced the technique with random objects, but today the children challenged themselves by trying to make images out of a variety of shapes.
Lochie: Well I’m going to have a car.
CC: I’m going to do a car with bigger triangles and big wheels. It’s going to have bigger wheels and smaller wheels
Lochie: And I’m going to have a person in the car and I’m going to have two persons in the car. Vroom Vroom haha
CC: I’m going to make a beach with all these different kinds of seashells. I could do a beach from these kinds of squares.
Lochie: I need a beach, there’s some people and they’re driving to a house! Here’s the house and here’s the person and here’s the car. And they have a locked key in the back of the car all day and all night so nobody can find them. And then they’re going to unlock the door.
CC: The people are driving to California and they’re moving to California. I actually want to make a beach.
Lochie: I’m making a sky now.
CC: So here’s the ground with the seashells, did you know I know what creature is inside this shell. It’s this thing that makes seashells.
Lochie: Then there’s another house that they have to drive to and then there’s one leaf.
CC: The people are driving to California and then they were moving to California and this when they were there at California.
Lochie: And then there is a leaf in the tree. Now I’m done.
CC: And they have rocks at the beach. I found rocks at the beach once. These are gem rocks.
I’m spreading them out. And there’s more rocks. I’m done.
Elle: Mine is about these are eggs and ladybugs and so these are the gems and these are the two ladybugs and the two ladybugs found the gems. This is a lilypad
Violet: These are ladybugs and a big rock
Elle: and then I’m going to take this one and some more gems.
Violet: These are the ladybugs and these are ladybugs too, and these are the rocks for them to climb on.
Elle: And this is the lilypad and I’m going to do these for the rocks.
Violet: I’m going to add these for a couple rocks.
Elle: I want this seashell here. I need some more gems. There, done!
Marley: We’re adding this, they’re my favorite.
George: These are my favorite. I have this car.
Marley: This is my pink house. I’m going to make the person at the car. And a mom and a dad. And a little baby too! How about right there.
George: The diamonds are my favorite.
Marley: They’re also my favorite. I’m going to add some soda cans. I love these.
George: I’ve never had soda.
Marley: I’ve had coca cola before. These are coca cola caps!
George: Is this one too clear to work?
Marley: These are really clear, I love them! I have three soda caps.
Jack: I’ll add two wheels, this one and this one.
Lochie: This is not the same one, this the other one. So I’m going to have two wheels and a car and two people. They’re both standing on the car.
Jack: And then this diamond goes there. And im going to put one of them holding a key and this is for the car.
Lochie: And now I’m going to do the sky!
Jack: oooh I’m going to do a sky too!
Lochie: I just need one more.
Jack: No, I’m not done. I need to add a few rocks. All these are clear. I’m going to use like this one and this one.
Lochie: They need a window in the car! Only one window in the car! Now I just need some of these.
