Projecting our Family Pictures On the Big Wall
Picture

At our second meeting today we had a surprise "show" of pictures from each child's photo album.  Read some of the comments from the spectators below...
Picture
Maren:  That is us.
Cannon:  It’s Lilly’s sister!
Maren: And my friends in there!
Picture
Ada: That’s me!
Melanie: And who else?
Ada: Daddy and mommy.  That’s me as a little itsy baby.  I’m a baby in that picture.
Picture
Olivia: That’s me!
Jessica: Does Olivia have a baby brother?
Maren: I have a baby brother.
Picture
Wolf: Wolfie’s fishing! I’m catching crawfish. It does pinch.
Ada:  Well, I don’t really like that kind.  I don’t like to eat it.  It’s so yucky.
Wolf: It’s not yucky for me.
Picture
Ellie: Emilia!
Olivia: Emilia’s not here today.
Ada: Why is she not here?
Picture
Olivia: Gigi!
Jessica: Who is with Gigi?
Cannon: It’s a baby!
Picture
Olivia: That’s Evelyn, and that’s my friend.
Jessica:  Who’s the other person in that picture?
Ada:  Alexandra.  And that’s her mom.
Evelyn: Face painting!
Jessica:  What’s on your face?
Evelyn: Butterfly.
Olivia:  Is that you Evelyn?
Backwards Day adventures...

Inspecting the bird house, Ada and Oliver put small wood chips into the hole.

Oliver says, "They're all in the house.  The snack is all in the house.  For the birds to eats the snack."

Sticky, sticky, sticky glue...

Exploration of materials is important at our school.  The Brown Room children often let us know how much they love glue.  They sometimes point at it while they work in the studio, hoping to incorporate it into their piece.  Today we went glue-crazy! Oliver comments here that it's not a good idea to eat glue... very good advice.  Besides glue, we were dazzled by the shiny jewels available in the black container.  Ellie said, "I share with him" as she walked around the table and reached into the container.  Many others got up to share with their peers.  Oliver takes the initiative to scoot the container a little closer when he realizes he wants a larger variety of beads.  All the while, they chat amongst themselves about the sticky, icky glue.
