A World of WatercolorsWorking at the Light TableA New TechniqueIn another part of the room, children explored a different watercolor technique. Children put water on their paper first, perhaps making a shape or letters, and then added the color to the water.
As you can see, children noticed that as the color spreads their paintings look less precise than the ones they had done on the light table. Negative SpaceToday we introduced another technique. We worked with negative space by placing tape or stickers on the paper. After children painted all the resulting shapes, they dried their work with a hair dryer. (Many thought using the hair dryer was the best part!) When the paint was dry, it was time for the tape to come off! TablesettersThis week our table setters were Zari, Cal, Gracie, Ava, Eliza, Rawls, and Will. Our Friday group was so small that we only needed one table! This and that ...
Have a wonderful weekend! We'll see you on Tuesday!
