Mixing Color with Light

“Maybe we can mix colors in light. Maybe we can mix colors in sunlight . Maybe it can glow through it.” -Henri

Partially inspired by the Henri's and George's comments about mixing color and light we brought the light table into the studio for a week to expand on this by making light table arrangements. Our intention for these light table arrangements extends into the language of photography. When each child decided their light table arrangement was finished, we photographed the composition, and we have now began to exploring exploring photo editing to modify the original photo's light quality and or color.  The children's choice of photograph will be displayed with their school photo by the mailboxes.

The children playfully explored the materials, they chose what objects suited their vision or caught their attention, and impermanently placed them onto the light table. If they chose they rearranged some of the materials to revise their work.

After looking at her first completion in photograph and asked if she wanted to change or add, Lillian chose to add some materials. Her reflection on this change: "I thought it would make it look prettier," she said.
