IT'S WATER DAY!
Happy Water Day Wednesday! Today we welcomed our new Session II friends to our first water day of camp! Spirits were high and excitement was over the roof yesterday in anticipation of spending time in the outdoor classroom.
3...2...1...THANK YOU WILL!
Will, an alumni of St. Johns and a teacher this year at camp has helped us all summer, from creating a fantastic water play area, to building a water slide and running the rainbow sprinkler. Connections closed their water day with a special thank you to Will!
After our fun-filled morning, the Connections Crew shared a healthy snack of Cheerios and clementines while listening to "If the Dinosaurs Came Back", a new book in our classroom nook by Rachel!
Shortly after snack, our afternoon plans were to design and create wire wind chimes! The kids twisted and turned wires around their bases, then adding "music" to their creations.
"Why do we use metal materials?"
“Because it’s a machine! Machines are made out of metal”- Finlay
“A jingly bell”- Maxon
Maxon: “These are the tentacles (wire) and this is the head (ring)
Aida: "A decoration that has powers to turn to anything and it’s rainbow because I love rainbows"
Nora:" It’s a wreath for Christmas time."
Sylvie: "It’s an instrument."
Frannie: "It’s special."
Cape: "It may be a shiny thing."
Check back tomorrow to see what Connections are up to!
