This week we will focus on

COLOR, LIGHT and SHADOW

To begin our investigation of light this week we experimented with a variety of transparent and opaque materials and the overhead projector. We were fascinated by the large and colorful shadows and projections we saw on the shadow screen, the walls, the ceiling and sometimes even our bodies.

"It's dark" - Ramsey, looking around the classroom
"Light in there!" - Ellie, pointing to the large and illuminated shadow screen

"Look, there's a person!"
- Soren, observing the shadow of a friend on the other side of the shadow screen

"Too sunny!"
- Ellie, pointing to the light coming from the overhead projector

On the light table, children experimented with mirrors, transparent materials and glue and observed color mixing when layering small pieces of colorful cellophane paper.

"Blue and yellow makes green and blue and red makes purple." - Soren

We ended our day with a deep dive into the ocean where we swam with sharks and sting rays, explored a coral reef together with clown fish and followed a large sea turtle on her adventures, while we listened to calming guitar music.
