Constructing and painting with LIGHT
Constructing with colorful plexiglass blocks in front of the projector created amazing silhouettes and colorful creations on the shadow screen. Fay and Skye explored creating different lighting for the room by placing colorful lenses in front of the light source.
As the children are forming closer connections and relationships with each other and their environment, we see a growing confidence and independence and and increase in collaboration happening around the classroom.
While exploring with sand on the light table, Virginia said "I have an idea! Let me get things." before she went over to the studio in our classroom and returned with a small glass jar and a paint brush. Ellie observed Virginia and her use of materials closely. She then exclaimed "Right back!" and got a jar and paint brush as well.
"You got some too?" - Virginia, pointing to Ellie's paint brush
"Paint! More paint!" - Ellie, pretending to "pick up paint" with her brush from a book on the light table.
